Large Enterprise

Who qualifies as a Large Enterprise?

Large Enterprise is any business with an annual turnover of R50 million or more.

B-BBEE Requirements for Large Enterprises

Large Enterprises are required to undergo a full B-BBEE verification audit against the Generic Scorecard, which includes all five scorecard elements. There is no affidavit exemption regardless of ownership status.

The Five Elements of the Generic Scorecard

  1. Ownership
  2. Management Control
  3. Skills Development
  4. Enterprise & Supplier Development
  5. Socio-Economic Development

Priority Elements

Large Enterprises must comply with the three priority elements:

  • Ownership
  • Skills Development
  • Enterprise and Supplier Development

Failure to comply with the minimum thresholds of any priority element may result in a one-level discount on the final B-BBEE rating.

What documentation is required?

Verification involves a detailed review of:

  • Financial statements
  • Shareholder and ownership records
  • Employment equity and payroll data
  • Procurement spend and supplier breakdowns
  • Skills development plans and training spend
  • Enterprise development and SED initiatives

HIAC ensures the process is efficient, fully compliant, and minimally disruptive to your operations.

Certificate Validity

All B-BBEE verification certificates for Large Enterprises are valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
